1960's Oldies but Goodies Walking Workout | Fun Exercise for Seniors and Beginners | Improved Health

Happy New Year everyone! This is a 1960’s oldies but goodies walking exercise program geared to kickstart your fitness now that the New Year is here. Today we will do 23 minutes of a walking workout, 4 minutes of basic strength training and 5 minutes of stretching. Each day of the 7 day program is going to be designed differently to give you a full body workout. If you want to improve your strength, fitness, balance and flexibility (while having fun), then this is for you! I listened to a ton of music from the 1960’s to find the most upbeat, fun music I could find for you. I had fun creating the workout so I sure hope you enjoy it, too!

The total steps during the cardio portion is 2675 steps. Please have weights handy for the strength training portion and a chair available for stretching. As always, this is low impact. Please use your judgment on when to modify exercises. If you feel a move isn’t good for you, please change the exercise to a move that is more suitable for you.

    AWESOME!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Because the music brought up so many wonderful memories, it didn’t feel like a workout but I was sweating. I went back to the days of me in my bedroom blasting records and singing to the top of my lungs. How my parents put up with it, I’ll never know. Then it brought up memories of my favorite movie "Dirty Dancing" and who couldn’t love dancing with Patrick Swayze. Then I was shouting SWEET CAROLINE bum bum bum! And of course, What a Wonderful World. Thanks Jules for making it a Wonderful World with your inspiring exercise programs and the positive and motivational messages throughout the workouts.     Sometimes it takes a while for a light bulb to come on. I just realized this am there is no reason why I can’t do this wonderful upbeat music video in the seated position. all the exercises are similar for either standing or sitting. I got a great work out I will do this with other standing ones. Out of Covid jail tomorrow after 10 days that I was not sick just slight cold symptoms luckily. But it gave me a chance to get back to healthy eating and exercising daily with you. I feel alive again. I never take time off so the universe saw I needed to recharge get my arthritic flare under control and gave me the time I needed. Now I can go back and give my elderly clients my all in helping with their household chores. Have a great day

    Day 64! 😁 I’m not going to let a bruised/cracked rib get in the way of doing my nightly workouts with you Jules BUT I am being very respectful towards it by modifying some moves while holding my rib.

    I have a history of stage four cancer., breast and spine. I stopped working out. My whole body is like it’s swollen with all the medicine I’m taking. My knees…, my legs… my body got stiff. I lost my flexibility. It’s hard to walk. It’s even hard to stand up. But one day I opened your exercise program and oh boy it got me going. I love working out with the music. I was able to finish the work out, I was sweating and I enjoyed it! The music got me going and going till the work out is finished. This is my second week. I’ve felt a lot of improvement. I can stand up with ease and can walk without a walker. Today is the day 1 of the exercise program. I hope I can find the rest tomorrow to go through to the last day. And continue on…Thank you so much for this exercise program, You have inspired me to get back to my "normal self". I thank the Lord for having such person like you to help people like me get back in track. I love you.

    What what that was tremendous. I’m running out of words Jules lol. Music..tick. exercises…tick. I was singing away. I’ve got too many GO TO clips now but I love them all. It’s perfect when u combine strength in it. I’m.off do day 18 I think. For first time in ages my abs r tender from the sit down twist one u did at end day 17. I’m going try do it after every day of the challenge. It’s v v effective…..u r just awesome….thank you so much

    Great videos and great idea but it would be much better if you would keep beat to the music. Sometimes you do but some songs you don’t and it is very difficult for a musical person to move off beat. Maybe get a musical friend to help out.
