I disagree with the comment that it should be a female voice. It is very hard to find a male voice that is relaxing and not fake, this is a very good voice.

Thank you for posting this! I just learned about PMR in my models of psychotherapy class. This is very helpful for when stressed out!

MEDITATION OF THE WEEK – PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION
This meditation will assist with quieting the mind. This is done by focusing on the breath and an image/objective or sound (mantra). This process allows the mind to achieve clarity and awareness.

TO BEGIN – Find a comfortable and quiet space where you won’t be interrupted for at least 10 minutes. If possible, dim the lights, close the door and turn off your phone.

REMEMBER, trying anything new takes time and patience. So, if your mind wanders and you can’t focus that is okay. Be kind to yourself and try again later or another day.

Let us know how you enjoyed the meditation. We appreciate feedback.

His constant swallowing and swishing of spit was annoying but video was helpful a little in relaxing just not detailed enough no tensing and relaxing either

  15. BigCat on August 7, 2021 at 9:50 pm

This didn’t do anything for me.

  16. CleaRing on August 7, 2021 at 9:56 pm

Short, but deeply relaxing. Love the voice.

This is the meditation that i guess somehow works on me on more like noticing things so is there like similar things to do like this progressive types of relaxation ?

He really just made us breathe manually but i ain’t even mad

  19. Steaphan Markotany on August 7, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Its a good video & meditation so thankyou. However for Progressive Muscle Relaxation it’s not simply a meditation or thought process but also a tightening of the muscles involved, before a full relaxation, letting go of the tension.

It’s good but I prefer a guided meditation without music. The music is OK but as a musician I can’t concentrate on the instructions because I’m listening to the music.

  28. Ms. R Provinse on August 7, 2021 at 10:13 pm

Thanks for the gentle, mellow way you present this. It seems that I can’t wait to get into bed each night to start the Progressive Muscle Relaxation. But just in case I’m not asleep at the end of the 10 minutes, I wish that the flute continued playing longer during the time I’m practicing deep breathing to fall asleep. My sleep neurology psychiatrist introduced me to the sight as an assignment.

Yup, that worked…so thank you. I
Your voice is steady & clear, I found it helpful in relaxing.

  32. C A Campbell on August 7, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Too fast; not detailed enough; flute too loud in relation to voice, in my opinion.

  33. hetzy13 on August 7, 2021 at 10:16 pm

    Thank u!!!

  34. FlickerFlame on August 7, 2021 at 10:16 pm

THIS IS NOT PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION. Is it called a Body Scan? But it can be good in it’s own right and helpful.

  35. Storm and Allie on August 7, 2021 at 10:16 pm

A very useful and effective technique, thank you ♥

Thank you for all the help you have given me in relaxing my muscles I find that Realtor good I have trued to 5 times and it has worked every time

  39. Andrew Schramm on August 7, 2021 at 10:20 pm

This isn’t progressive muscle relaxation, per se, which involves systematically tensing and releasing muscles.

  40. Shawna VanDriessche on August 7, 2021 at 10:22 pm

  44. Igor Pimkov on August 7, 2021 at 10:28 pm

I found this very helpful, but I have a question. For the questions that you asked before, if the answer was no, and you start to feel guilt about it. How would you suggest to think about this? Also, if you examine your breath and it is not full without you altering it, how do you suggest to deal with that? I’m new to this, sorry if this is supposed to be common sense.

  45. Karly Laura on August 7, 2021 at 10:28 pm

I’m currently recovering from surgery and have anxiety struggles normally. Found this very helpful the past 2 nights. While my symptoms remain i have become a lot calmer again. Will definitely be keeping up with this for a week or two more and will re-visit then after as needed. 🤗
