How to use MyFitnessPal to GAIN Weight | Step by Step Guide

Let’s discuss how to use myfitnesspal to gain weight. I’ll be using this strategy over the next several months to hopefully add some lean tissue.

Step 1 to gaining weight is to check your weight. You’re going to need this to find your maintenance calories.

Step 2 to your bulk is to download myfitnesspal and track your food for a week. You don’t need to listen to what myfitnesspal prescribes to you, instead just track. At the end of the week check your weight again, if you didn’t gain or lose anything significant, then the average caloric intake over the course of your week and that’s your maintenance.

Step 3 to gaining weight using myfitnesspal is to add 15% more calories to your baseline and ride that out for 2 weeks. If you’re gaining weight, ride it out for another 2 weeks. If you’re not gaining weight or you stall out move to step 4.

Step 4, whenever you want to gain weight faster, just add 10% on top of your new maintenance level of calories, and continue the process until you’re at the size you want.

This is the step by step guide on how to use MyFitnessPal to gain weight.

This confuses me. How do you know pacifically that you consumed this many calories? The egg may be small for example. How do you measure calories correctly using an app?

Alex, appreciate the help here. I downloaded the app recently as I started lifting more. I recently did the 2000 jump rope challenge https://youtu.be/eMjSOTJYBHc and I DEF not want to put on extra fat by eating back the calories after lifting weights. I am hardly doing any cardio besides the drops set that gets the heart rate up. But yeah, thank you so much….Your insights make me feel at ease…been stressing dude been stressing!!no more logging my lifting

Once you have changed your protien % for your pounds of bodyweight. What % of carbs and fats should you have to gain lean muscle ? So i am 230pounds protien is 45% asi dont have premium for grams option. And carbs are 35% and fat is 20%

Hello, I gotta a question. I setted my macros up exactly this way
    Protein 150g
    Carbo 270 g
    Fat 80g
The protein is based on the recommended for my weight (72kg) but my problem is I’m not being able to eat all of this amount of carbo but at the same time I’m afraid to increase my fat percentage because although I wanna gain muscle I have a fat concentration on my abs and hips .So my question is ,if do I increase this fat percentage on the app to minimize the carbo it will make me gain more fat body together? Thank you for the video ♡

I’m unsure how much calories I’m supposed to consume. I weigh 130 pounds so how much calories should consume in order to gain weight? How do I do the math?
