Cathy Parkes BSN, RN, CWCN, PHN covers Introduction, #Overview of Nutrients. The Nutrition Essentials video tutorial series is intended to help RN and PN nursing students study for your nursing school exams, including the ATI, HESI and NCLEX.

In this video, Cathy provides an introduction to the Nutrition Essentials video series. She includes an overview of macronutrients, which includes carbohydrates, lipids, and protein. Cathy also provides an overview of micronutrients, which include vitamins and minerals. She discusses the key differences between water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins and the increased risk for toxicity with fat-soluble vitamins. Finally, at the end of the video, Cathy does a quick and easy knowledge check on some of the key concepts she discusses in the video.
