PHS 100 Portfolio #2 Kinetic Energy vs Potential Energy

PHS 100 Portfolio #2 Kinetic Energy vs Potential Energy

For this video, I will be demonstrating the different kinds of energy used during a Trap Bar Deadlift with 405 LBS. (This is my first try ever with this weight)

Set Phase: I prepare my for the weight being lifted. This is me producing my potential energy so that I can drive the weight up and pick it up. Therefore I’m preparing 405+ LBS of force to move this weight.
Coaching Points:
1). Toes right under bar
2). Hands outside of knees
3). Sit back on heels
4). Chest up and back straight

Action Phase: I drive the weight straight up utilizing my hips and knees in order to have correct form without hurting myself. The energy used at this point is kinetic energy because I am using 405+ LBS to drive the weight straight up.
Coaching Points:
1). Chest up and back straight
2). Drive through heels (DO NOT RISE UP WITH TOES!!!!!)
3). Straighten knees
4). Breathe out, do not hold breath!
