    There definitely seems to be some truth to the body having a "set point". Once I got under 300lbs every 10 pounds I lost theres always a massive plateau on the last 3 pounds that lasts for months.

    I was on keto last year for 3 months i lost 20 kg. But once i stopped i gain it back .so what is diffuclt is to keep the diet for the rest of life .also keto is expensive

    i think that all come down to will and determination. we can blame the environment we live in , the situation we in but always remember we are always to deal with the result of those disease that comes with diabetes. It is better to die hard to stick with diet rather than messed up our remaining life. Healthier life is a choice.

    There is a limit to how efficient your body can get. For example, your body will never be so efficient that you can walk 10 miles a day at a brisk pace and work 40 hours a week at a physical job and do all of your housework and errands on 200 calories per day. So, even if your body gets more efficient when you decrease the calories you consume, you can always consume 100 calories per day less than what your body is using.

    If an obese person gets on a weight loss plan that involves consuming 100 calories per day less than the number of calories burned, it seems like the only ways the plan could fail are the person feels too hungry or too weak to exercise. I wonder if there have been any studies that investigated which is most common.

    What a bunch of BS. Don’t listen to this video. I know from experience that diet and exercise are everything in losing weight and you are in total control of it. Of course your body will try to resist and maintain itself at first, that’s been known for years, but you eat less and push through the exercise even when tired until you start to feel more energy from the weight you’ve lost. How can the video cite lack of exercise as a reason for gaining weight beyond your set point but say it is not necessarily a factor for losing weight beyond your set point? Don’t let this video undermine your self-efficacy. Obesity is not a disease, it is 100% a choice! And everyone can lose weight once they really make their mind up that they want to.

    The worst thing can hapoen to u is to be obese all diseases have medication and r hidden but obesity is affecting both ur mental and physical health have been struggling and no doctors told me to check thyroid and PCOS, B12 , vitaminD . all these r importand on the weight gain.     But… Even so, proper diet and exercise routine is still a valid treatment to obesity. It may require a long term commitment, but planning healthy nutritional meals and making your calorie expenditure higher than your intake is still the least invasive way to treat obesity and it doesn’t have the costs, risks or the complications that medication or surgery would.
    You want a solution? Don’t want to be stuck struggling with your current set point? Talk to a nutritionist and a personal trainer. There is much more to dieting and exercise than just calories and with the right knowledge you can make completely achievable weight and health goals to treat your obesity.

    The video failed to mention set point can be changed. Almost like they’re trying to make losing weight seem impossible. The reason people usually fail is be because the average dieter goes for quick fixes or extreme dieting. It’s not because losing weight is impossible. People lose the weight and even keep it off every day. It might be difficult and take work. Take time. An immense amount of time perhaps. It’s not impossible though. You’re not helping people by presenting videos like this. In this way.

    I weighed every piece of food I put into my body by the gram with my little food scale for a while and got used to seeing how much I was consuming and it’s actually shocking. I recommend anyone trying to lose weight to weight everything down to the gram for a while so they can get used to eyeballing portions not knowing will have you being WAY off.

    This whole video is based around the fact that your brain determines your energy intake and expenditure. It doesn’t do that at the end of the day you’re the one actively putting food in your mouth and not exercising. The brain might influence your hunger hormones and energy levels, but that isnt a excuse all you need is motivation. You can counteract the increased hunger feelings by eating foods higher in fiber and you can counteract the decrease in NEAT by being more conscious of your daily non exercise activity. Take the stair instead of the elevator, get out of the bus one stop earlier and parking further away from the groccery store. You can also boost your BMR (daily calorie usage) bij increasing lean mass by exercising, this will make it easier to stay lean.

    If I eat one meal, like one meal I literally gain like 100000 pounds like my stomach looks so big and the thing is that meal was actually a very healthy meal and I didn’t even eat a large portion of it and I work out everyday

    This video changed a lot on the way I’m thinking about weight loss. I mean, now I understand why I binge-eating and I stopped doing it after the video as I know why it happens and I can tell my body to stop (yeah like if I was insane I’m talking to my body, but it works) 🤗
