Jai shree krishna Swami ji.. My name is Krishna Yadav. I have a question that I am a pure vegetarian. We have cow as well. I eat only satvik bhaujan but still my mind is not stable. It keeps on thinking negative or unnecessary things. It is really making me so uncomfortable and depressed. Why is it so Swami ji. If you can just help me to understand and guide me as what to do to control the mind. Thank you in advance Swami ji.

The Hindu philosophy to minimise suffering of other lifeforms through their diet to improve their well-being (satvic) is correct. However, in order to fully minimise suffering, a vegan diet is necessary. Otherwise, milk is in affect, stolen from the mother, who is artificially impregnated many times over causing her to be exhausted, until she eventually dies. There is a great deal of suffering caused by a vegetarian diet. Plant-based milks, yogurts and cheeses are ideal replacements as they offer very little difference in flavour.

  28. R J on August 21, 2022 at 6:09 am

Bheema are meat. Shiva in the form of Rudra was a hunter. The famous story of Arjuna was about hunting a wild boar; in which he met Lord Shiva.

I’ve worked as a construction for over 35 years and I have yet to see a Vegan or vegetarian keep up with the heavy pace that is needed in the Concrete feild. Most champions In the ufc are omnivores. The natives up here in Canada live well into their 100s and outlive most ‘east indians’ whom routinely have diabetes here in the north. Natives hunt wild animals.

I understand vegetarian lifestyle has benefits, but it doesn’t promote longevity or raw strength and endurance.

Shaivites are hunters. Vashnivites are the vegetarian/vegans. Perhaps we have different life courses. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

What we are eating, that is what our body is made of. Our mind is also made of that. If we eat too much chilli, it is natural to get angry. There is a link to what food we eat. It is important to understand the importance of healthy eating. Food can be classified in three modes, satva guna(goodnes), rajo guna( passion) and tamo guna(ignorance). The satvic food are natural foods created by God for humans – grains, lentils, dals, pulses, beans, fruits and vegetables, dairy products. Satvic food makes our mind satvic. Over cooked food, food with too much of salt, chilli, sour, sugar are mode of passion. These will enhance worldly aspirations. The tamasic food are putrified, stale, addictive and meat products. Tamasic food will increase violence, anger, laziness, sleep; increase darkness of soul. God has designed our body for vegetarianism. We have molar teeth, long intestine and not good for meat products. Even if we kill vegetables, we are committing sin because plants also have life. Those who offer food to God and partake of the remnants, are released from sin. Those who eat in enjoying consciousness are eating sin. We should think that to use this body in service of God, we need to maintain this body and reach him. First offer to God and have his prasad. Please like, comment and share this wonderful video.
