Xavier University College of Pharmacy- Health & Wellness Center Ribbon Cutting

Renowned local chef Leah Chase, was on hand to assist Xavier University of Louisiana as it celebrated the Grand Opening of the College of Pharmacys(COP) new Health & Wellness Center with a ribbon cutting on June 24. The university reinforced its commitment to its initiatives focusing on minority health disparities and diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
The goal of the center, located next to the Wal-Mart store at 5110 Jefferson Hwy. in Harahan, is to improve the health of the community by providing education, medication therapy management and screening services to those with Diabetes-related health care needs in the Greater New Orleans area.
Joining Mrs. Chase and Xavier president, Dr. Norman C. Francis were Sybil Richard’91 Deputy Secretary, La Dept of Health and Hospitals, COP associate dean Dr. Kathleen Kennedy, COP dean Dr. Wayne Harris, Wal-Mart pharmacist Brandi Puglise 04, and Center director Dr. William Kirchain.
