That’ll be me on Thursday, got my PT practical assessment. Pretty nervous, just glad I’m not being filmed lol, just to add to the pressure…. Phew.
Is this level 2 or 3?
Couple of notes for the trainee. When speaking you should slow down and relax your breathing to allow your voice and body language to be clearer and calmer. Credit to your instructions while doing the exercises with your client as this made it easier for him to make adjustments rather than receiving a list of instructions before hand.
Perhaps this is a British thing, but so often I see people with a stand offish approach when communicating their ideas and instructions. Almost as if they don’t want to intrude or connect to much. This of course is not every British person as I have seen great trainers who can be very expressive and more hands on in their approach, demonstrating a little closer to their client with good eye contact with an enjoyable energy to ask and answer plenty of questions.
It is perhaps cultural conditioning more so than a collective personality, and one which confident people actively overcome to be warmer.
A mindset we should all have to make our gyms and other environments friendlier.
Is this lvl2 course?
Trainer demonstrates correctly how to use rowing machine, participant immediately disregards it and uses it incorrectly. EVERY. SINGLE, TIME.
i want to become personal instructor, what should i need to do, or what are the things i need to learn, im a beginner
thanks guys.
I’ve joined the gym recently and my first time is Friday… looking forward to this part.
static stretching during a warm up? i thought the scientists had discredited that ages ago.
I’d have found this more helpful if you had filmed this assessment with a person like myself. Overweight and unfit and hadn’t run for a bus in 20yrs. Most off-putting thing about attending a gym is feeling self conscious because the place is full of fit young people with great bodies. Bit more realism in this assessment vid with a real first timer would be more encouraging.
Static stretch should’ve done on the cool down dynamic stretch on the warm up. This would fail me.
