I just became a garbage man and it’s very labor intensive
I see my job as part of my workout
I dont train the muscles that are sore, I only do stretching for those muscles and train other stuff, e.g. in my case no lower back or neck (even tho I have a 165kg deadlift without deadlifting regularly), but anything else goes
Furthermore I use my job as a big part of my cardio
One question. If u work in construction can u still have a "normal" home/gym workout or that is to much for your body. Idk why i think that doing both things is to much and will afect my gains. Can u do both things?
I like a combination of the foam roller and massage gun especially on a budget.
Im an order selector. Google it lol. I’m flying around as light as a bird at 230 but that wasn’t my goal. Iwant to be big and strong. But I know that cardio and muscle progression really don’t mix. I NEED HELP. Also I’m 39 yrs old.
You should do a lot of cardio and my a massage chair
Scaffolding in london yoga for half hour every morning weights 3 times a week at home weighted run to and from training jiu jiutsu 3 times a week and getting blazed up on sundays ive never felt better it took literally months to break myself into a routine but now its basically maintanance and ive never looked or felt better in my life and i genuinly feel im at my healthiest and ideal weight strength power etc for my body type

I act asif my job (concreting) is a sport. And train like i used to train during my rugby seasons. Allowing me to stay capable of of carrying timbers and steel and working the slab but also seeing a huge diffrence in my body and stamina
I really wanna continue powerlifting but imma start as aircraft mechanic monday so it sucks
So here are things I do on a daily basis as a bait farmer:
Load a truck with 300 gallons of minnows (which involves walking 100 buckets two at a time about fifty feet then lifting said buckets above my head each weighing roughly 55 pounds). Then go to a pond and unload a boat, drag the boat through the weed bed so we don’t mess up the motor. This can be anywhere from not at all to 100 feet. This time of year it’s about 100 feet long. Then I pull up 40-60 traps weighing anywhere from twenty five to eighty pounds, and dump them in a tub. Every twenty traps or so we have to go back, drag the boat to shore, put the fish in the bucket, then walk 10-15 buckets and dump them into the tank above our heads. Then do this 2-3 more times, then finally load the boat by hand. Then we do it one or two more times. M-F and most Saturdays I start at 4 am and can get off anywhere from 12pm-8pm. Honest to god man I physically can’t work out during the summer season cause I have a full body workout every day six days a week and it keeps me in phenomenal shape. In the winter I’ll do calisthenics six days a week, but I swear on my life I’m in better shape in the summer then winter 😂
Not saying it’s the most physically demanding job out there, but it’s a rough one for sure
Anybody else waking up at 4am for work? 😭 idk how I’m gonna find time to work out .
Update: I left the job because it was 3 hours away :/ Corporate jobs suck
Guys, I have an education in personal training. Fitness have four years of experience in it. I moved to a new town, couldn’t find a job in my industry. So I took a job and I do merchandising. Which is nothing but labor all day every day. For 8 to 10 hours sometimes 12. So what I did is I cut back from going six times seven times a week to the gym to three times a week. Full body still do the same amount of sets per workout I used to do. And I just make sure I don’t go too hard so I don’t get sore. But as far as moving properly, if you use your legs during the day it’s going to help a lot. But no matter what you do, your back feels it. So stretching mobility and when you do work out try to keep it on your days off so you can actually recover and then maybe a day or two when you’re working but just go a little lighter. That’s what I do and it’s worked. When I first started the job I didn’t go to the gym for 3 weeks because I was like what the f***
the movement thing is very true. I consciously save my back by squatting to pick stuff up but a lot of guys just bend unthinkingly until they’re hurt.
It sucks i love lifting but I am a roofer I train 3 times per week one being Saturday and it’s not too bad

How should I go about lifting heavy. I walk about 15k per day
My job got a heavy load but I know my limits I really don’t hurt too much I think ppl with intense jobs should train in a environment thats similar to they work like most time if you in a intense work environment it’s either cold or hot train your body to handle how to over heat or how to be wet or cold we get comfortable with working out in room temperature
It is hard to lift while working a physical job but i promise it will make you stronger, more flexible, more conditioned and better equipped for your job , I just count it as extra calories burned , make sure to add stretching it will undo most of the damage done at worm
